Worth knowing

Three things to understand before you compare

Key enrollment windows

Your Initial Enrollment Period starts 3 months before the month you turn 65 and lasts 7 months. Annual Enrollment runs October 15 to December 7, and Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment runs January 1 to March 31.

Advantage vs. Supplement

Medicare Advantage replaces Original Medicare with a private plan that often includes drug coverage and extras. A Supplement works alongside Original Medicare to cover deductibles and coinsurance; you add a separate Part D plan.

Plans change every year

Premiums, networks, drug formularies and extra benefits are updated each fall. Reviewing your plan annually can prevent surprises in January.

Medicare questions

Answers before you start

No. We are a private company and are not connected with or endorsed by the U.S. government or the federal Medicare program. We connect you with licensed agents who are contracted with private insurance carriers.
Does it cost anything to talk to an agent?
No. Licensed agents are paid by the insurance carriers. There is no fee to you for the consultation and no obligation to enroll.
Can I keep my doctor?
It depends on the plan. Medicare Advantage plans have provider networks; Medicare Supplement plans let you see any provider who accepts Medicare. Agents can check your doctors against plan networks before you enroll.
What should I have ready for the call?
Your Medicare card (or your Part A and Part B effective dates), a list of your prescriptions and doses, and the names of doctors you want to keep.
Can I see every plan in my area through you?
We do not offer every plan available in your area. Any information we provide is limited to the plans our partner agents offer in your area. Please contact Medicare.gov, 1-800-MEDICARE, or your local State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) to get information on all of your options.
